I love spending time outdoors all year round and so do my kids. The key to being able to do so is to have the right clothes for the weather. Growing up in Scandinavia with the motto that there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes, this is still deeply ingrained in me. In Sweden, all kids are well-equipped with all the gear for autumn/winter weather for enjoying the outdoors, but I’ve noticed that this is not quite the case here in the UK.

Our first piece of clothing from Spotty Otter is a pair of Forest Leader Insulated Printed Dungarees for my middle girl who is happiest when she plays outside. These adventure-proof trousers are available in Red and Blue and in sizes from 1-2 years to 7-8 years.

These waterproof (8,000mm) dungarees are lovely – they’re toasty-warm thanks to their cosy fleece lining but not bulky like some cold weather gear can be. This means they still offer great flexibility so that your children can move their bodies freely while staying warm and dry.

The trousers have lots of great features including an elasticated waist and ankles, adjustable shoulder straps, a handy snap closure pocket on the chest for treasures (or tissues, or lip balm, etc), welded seams, and more.

The outer fabric is made from 100% PU and is soft, flexible, and durable. It’s windproof as well as waterproof and conforms to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. The warm fleece lining covers the inside of the upper body part of the dungarees while the inside of the legs have a smooth polyester quilted lining. 

The elastic leg cuffs means the dungarees fit well over wellies and winter boots and there are non-creep removable bootstraps too. The legs have reflective safety trims all the way around and the Spotty Otter mascot logo on the pocket is made from reflective material too. 

The material of the trousers is easy to wipe-clean when needed but you can also wash these dungarees by hand or in the washing machine following the instructions on the care label.

My daughter is very happy to be equipped with these dungarees so that she can keep playing outdoors through the cold season, while staying warm, comfy, and dry. The trousers fit her really well and have plenty of room to grow too which is great. I’m sure our Forest Leader Insulated Printed Dungarees will be joining us on many adventures this winter!
