Top 3 Vegan Restaurants I Would Like to Visit This Summer

The vegan scene is booming and it’s great to see! I first explored the vegan way of life when I was a teenager, and it was a very different scene back then. Even in big capital cities like London, it wasn’t easy finding something to eat as a vegan. Fast forward until now, nearly a couple of decades later, you can find vegan options in most shops and restaurants.

It’s great to see that more and more people are moving towards a plant-based diet – eating more plants is great for your health, the planet, and your wallet too.

The vegan restaurant business offers lots of variety and choice these days. Whether you’re looking for fully vegan restaurants or restaurants with vegan options, fine dining options for special occasions or casual places for a lunch with friends, you’ll have plenty to choose from in most locations. Whatever you’re looking for, SquareMeal is a great place to both find brilliant restaurants and make your booking.

In this post, I have gathered the top 3 vegan restaurants I would like to visit this summer. Read on to see what my top picks are.

  • VE Kitchen, Clapham – 39 Northcote Road, London, SW11 1NJ

This is a casual vegan restaurant with a brilliant menu full of plant-based deliciousness, broken up into Guilty Pleasures, Game Changers and Modern Classics. Choose from a range of interesting dishes with highlights including Katsu Curry, Rainbow Balance Bowl and Mac & Cheeze to mention a few. The menu of starters sounds fantastic too and there are desserts too which is always a plus for me. I would have the Brownie & Gelato dessert option! The restaurant is located on a bustling road and the beautiful food matches the gorgeous interior and exterior design of the restaurant.

  • Pastan Barbican – 12-14 St John’s Street, London, EC1M 4AY

Another causal option in London with a 100% plant-based and sustainable menu. At lunchtime you can enjoy a 2-course meal from the set menu for under £10 which is excellent value. I’m a huge fan of Italian food and pasta so this is high up on my restaurant wish list. I think I need to work my way through the full menu! They have some amazing looking Biscoff mini doughnuts on there too which I thought were worth a quick mention!

The restaurant looks cosy and cute, and they also do a Bottomless Prunch on Fridays and Saturdays. This includes Bottomless (Trebbiano / Barbera / Prosecco or Aperol), Antipasto, Any Pasta Dish and 2 Mini Doughnuts for £35.

  • Club Mexicana – Kingly Court, London, W1B 5PW

I love Mexican flavours and here you can find a menu of Mexican snacks and dishes that have been given a vegan makeover. The beer-battered tofu tacos sound amazing! Both the food and the restaurant are colourful and vibrant. I’ve also been craving frozen margaritas for a very long time and am excited to see these refreshing cocktails served here! The charming, casual restaurant is budget-friendly too.

Writing this article has made me very hungry and ready for a meal out! Where should I go first?

Collaboration.
