|Win a 3-Month Reading Chest Subscription for World Book Day!
Happy World Book Day! One of my favourite events of the year and one that my children love too. It’s great to celebrate the joy of reading books and lots of fun for the kids to dress up as characters from their favourite books.
Today we’re celebrating a bit extra with a giveaway here on the blog in collaboration with Reading Chest. We had a Reading Chest subscription back in 2019 for my eldest daughter (you can read my full review here) and loved it and now we’re doing in again with a subscription for my two biggest girls who love reading.
Reading Chest is a book rental subscription that works like this:
You choose a subscription package (different amounts of books and swaps per month) and set your child’s reading level (or levels if applicable). You can also choose books that you would like to receive when available and any books that you don’t want to receive.
Your books will soon arrive in the post, sent with First Class. Your first delivery also includes some goodies to help you look after your books and to encourage your reading. There’s a fun sticker chart and stickers and a bag for storing your books in.
You can keep the books for as long as you want then you send them back in the prepaid envelope that you get with each new delivery of books. You can send up to 3 books back at a time.
My kids love it and it’s perfect for them as they go through lots of books!

The Fantastic Mr Fox
My son just went wearing his Toy Story onsie this year
My daughter was dressed up as Alice in Wonderland
My daughter dressed as a tomato haha as they had a Supertato theme day and she didn’t want to be a potato. She loves all the Julia Donaldson books the most.
Our school didn’t do dressing up this year due to families who would struggle with the extra cost, but mine love Roald Dahl, probably because I have been a fan since childhood, and have read them all to them numerous times! Their favourite is probably The Witches, although that could be because of the silly voices I do!
My eldest dressed up as Mo Salah (LFC player) and my youngest dressed up as Harry Potter :)
Little red riding hood
Room on the Brom – kind witch
Our school this year did dress up as a word, so one went as comfortable, so she could wear pyjamas 😂 and my son went as the universe 😊
A dinosaur – homemade costume as the school wanted us to recycle this year, it was a hoodie with spikes stuck on.
