Arden & Amici Italian Bakery Goodies Review – Perfect for Christmas!
Time is flying by and it’s definitely not too soon to think about Christmas treats or things that you can enjoy now already in the run up to Christmas!
Arden & Amici is an Italian bakery brand that seek out the best in Italian baked goods to bring to you. Italy is well known for its cakes, biscuits and desserts and sweet things is something the Italians do very well.
Arden & Amici let you bring the best of Italian bakery to your home to share with friends and family and enjoy life to the fullest — like Italians do! I believe in enjoying the little things in life like a nice coffee with biscuits and not depriving yourself.
The range includes Almond Cantuccini, Almond and Chocolate Chunk Biscotti, Soft Amaretti, Savioardi, Canestrelli, Almond Ricciarelli, Panforte and Panettone in different sizes and flavours. There are two large 750g Pannettone in Prosecco flavour or Cranberry, Orange & Clementine, medium 500g ones in Classic or Chocolate and mini 100g ones in Classic, Chocolate or Cranberry & Orange. The mini ones could even be hung in the Christmas tree!
All these yummy treats are made from the best authentic ingredients and have been beautifully packaged to give a traditional hand wrapped feel which is reminiscent of the food you buy in Italy.
My family and I have sampled some of the range — the Almond Cantuccini, the classic Panettone and the Cranberry, Orange & Clementine Panettone.
I have always been fond of Cantuccini and remember being very happy as a child when my mum had bought a packet of almond or chocolate Cantuccini from the supermarket. I love the crunch and the generous number of almonds in the Arden & Amici ones and they are so good on their own but also lovely to dip in coffee or tea. Dipping in dessert wine would be lovely as a Christmas treat as well! Or Baileys… They’re perfectly baked, sweet and delicious. I can taste quite a lot of vanilla in them too which I like.
Panettone is an Italian type of sweet bread loaf that is usually prepared and enjoyed for Christmas and New Year. They’re often very impressive looking with their height and beautiful packaging. I would describe Panettone as a mix between a bun and a bread. The texture is very interesting as it’s somehow dry and moist at the same time. It’s very nice and I especially enjoy the ones with extra bits in.
The Cranberry, Orange & Clementine Panettone from Arden & Amici has the perfect combination of Christmas flavours and the pieces of fruit work really well in the bread. The Classic one (below) is delicious too!
The large ones are of course great for big families but don’t worry if you don’t finish it quickly — they do stay nice and fresh for several days and you can also use any leftover Panettone to make things like bread and butter pudding or French toast. You can find recipe ideas here. You might not have any leftovers though… My toddler is obsessed with Panettone now and would probably finish a big one if I let her!
You can find these festive Italian treats in Waitrose, Tesco, Morrisons and Ocado. Not all products are available in all shops.
