Harriet Manners is back in the fifth book of the bestselling, award-winning Geek Girl series. Geek Girl was the no. 1 bestselling young adult fiction title in the UK in 2013 and was shortlisted for several major awards including the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Branford Boase award, nominated for the Queen of Teen award and won the teen and young adult category of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and the 11-14 category of the Leeds Book Award.

“Harriet Manners knows almost every fact there is.

She knows duck-billed platypuses don’t have stomachs.
She knows that fourteen squirrels were once detained as spies.
She knows that both chess and snakes and ladders were invented in the same country.

And for once, Harriet knows exactly how her life should go. She’s got it ALL planned out. So her friends seem less than happy, Harriet is determined to Make Things Happen!
If only everyone else would stick to the script…

But is following the rules going to break hearts for GEEK GIRL?”

Book Review: Geek Girl 5 – Head Over Heals by Holly Smale A Mum Reviews

In this book, Harriet is still in sixth form but now has a larger group of friends. After having a bit of a break from modelling, Harriett gets a call from Wilbur who has left his job and started his own modelling agency. Can Harriett balance modelling jobs, her friends and family at the same time?

In this book, we can feel Harriett growing up as she thinks about her life and examines her relationships and commitments.

As all Geek Girl books, this one too is full of awkward and funny situations. The book is sure to make readers smile and laugh and there are lots of situations that will feel familiar whether you’re an older reader remembering your teenage years or if you’re a teenager right now.

Head Over Heals is available in all good bookshops selling Young Adult books now. It’s also available online from Amazon.co.uk.

I was sent this book for review. As always, all my reviews are 100% honest and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
