Book Review & Giveaway: Harry and Hope by Sarah Lean
This is a story about friendship, family and belonging by bestselling author Sara Lean (known for novels like A Dog Called Homeless and Hero). The book is about Hope, a girl who lives with her artist mum in the Pyrenees. It’s always just been Hope and her mum until one day when a traveller called Frank arrives. With him, he has his donkey called Harry.
Hope and Frank form a close bond as Frank and Hope’s mum develop a relationship. But one day, Frank decides to move on, which is difficult for everybody. Frank is not Hope’s dad or anything but he is something special to her.
Hope promises to look after the donkey Harry and another special and unusual bond and friendship develops.
Sarah Lean’s storytelling is beautiful and memorable. Her unique story about Hope is full of emotions and it’s very touching. I would recommend Harry and Hope to children between 8 and 12.
Harry and Hope is available to buy from all good book shops, in-store and online (from Amazon.co.uk, for example). For your chance to win a copy of this lovely book, enter my giveaway via the Rafflecopter below. UK entrants only. Terms & Conditions apply. The giveaway ends on the 9th of April.
