Book Review: I SPY ISLAND by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet
|Book Review: I SPY ISLAND by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet
The bestselling picture book duo Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet are back with a new children’s book series: I SPY ISLAND which will be released on the 8th of July.
The new series will feature books that start with “I spy something…” in each book and will meet new characters too – best friends Glove, Bottle, Bird, Banana and Island which are all non-gendered for inclusivity.
The first book of the colourful new series is set on an island. The group of friends are there when a mystery guest washes up on the island, triggering a new adventure…
“In the middle of the ocean, miles from anywhere is a happy little island who loves to play I Spy… Join Island, and friends Glove, Banana, Bird and Bottle as they investigate the curious case of what’s just washed up on Island’s chin… What can it be? And what adventures lie in store? This terrific tale of fun, friendship and sunshine.”
The book is fun and playful and sure to be a hit with little ones. My middle girl who is 5 years old is especially fond of it, but my 2-year-old loves it too.
It’s a perfect length for a bedtime story for young children and the bright illustrations are so lovely! We look forward to seeing the rest of the series as more books are released.
