Book Review: Talulla Bear’s Bedtime Book by Heather Roan Robbins
This book might very well be the perfect bedtime book for children of all ages. Talulla Bear’s Bedtime Book is a sleepytime tale suitable from birth and onwards and not only is it absolutely beautiful, it is also designed to help children relax and get to sleep.
In this very soothing bedtime storybook, we meet little Talulla Bear who needs helpt to get to sleep. Tallula (and the children that the book is read to) is encouraged to snuggle down and imagine other sleepy animals like a cosy cat and a sleeping dog.
“Listening to the calming words of the story, and feeling safe beneath the tranquil night sky and twinkling stars, she soon becomes very, very sleepy….”
The dreamy bedtime tale is written in a poetic and meditiative language that will make children (and adults!) feel safe, calm and sleepy.
The illustrations by Sarah Perkins are a beautiful mix of drawings and photography — the two meet in a dreamy way that works so well with the story. Even the illustrations are soothing!
The book was orginially written for Heather Roan Robbins’ granddaughter, Talulla, who had trouble falling asleep. I’m so glad she decided to share the story so that children all over can come on this meditative journey to find a safe and calm place to rest for the night.
It’s an absolutely gorgeous book that will relax you and your children mentally and physically and prepare you for sleep and the next day ahead.
