The Fairytale Hairdresser and the Sugar Plum Fairy Review
Abie Longstaff and Lauren Beard are back with another book in The Fairytale Hairdresser series. You might remember my review of The Fairytale Hairdresser and The Little Mermaid a few months ago.
In this new book it’s the night of the winter ballet but disaster strikes as the Prince of the Land of Sweets goes missing! The wicked Mouse King and Queen might be to blame. Can the Fairytale Hairdresser save the day with the help of some enchanted toys and some fairytale fashion?
The Fairytale Hairdresser and the Sugar Plum Fairy is such a fun and colourful adventure! It’s exciting and interesting and full of bright and very detailed illustrations. I love the style of Lauren Beard’s drawings and think that they complement the story beautifully. The Land of Sweets looks amazing and I would love to visit after looking at the yummy illustrations.
The book has a winter theme which makes it very suitable for this time of the year and the next few months but it can of course be enjoyed at all times of the year. The cover of the book is nicely decorated with textured glitter which makes the book even more dreamy.
This spread above is one of my favourites with all the different and fun styles. Before knowing the series, I expected it to be too girly for me but even though there are many glitter and fashion elements to the books, they are tough, cool and fun at the same time which I love.
Abie Longstaff and Lauren Beard really make a great team!
