Children’s Christmas Gift Guide | Christmas Gift Ideas for Kids 2018
Children’s gifts are my favourite! I’m young at heart and love toys and products for children and in my family, we only actually buy Christmas presents for the children and this has been the tradition for a few years now.
If you’re looking for gifts for teenagers, check out this gift guide here.
In this post, I’m sharing some of my favourite products and Christmas gift ideas for children.
- Educational & Creative Fun
Kid K’Nex is without doubt my daughters’ favourite toy. We have a few sets and they play with them so much! They come up with elaborate and creative designs and have so much fun building. It’s also a great STEM toy which practices lots of skills so we’re of course pleased that they play with Kid K’Nex so much! I highly recommend getting a set if you have young kids and don’t have Kid K’Nex yet. My daughters are nearly 5 years old and 2.5 years old. I’m thinking about adding another set to the collection for Christmas — maybe the Kid K’NEX Zoo Friends Building Set (£14.99), available from Amazon.co.uk.
- A Favourite Character
Next is a gift idea that works for children big and small (and some adults too). If the child you are buying a gift for has a favourite character from film or TV or a musician, get that certain someone as a Pop! Vinyl. My eldest is very into her Disney films and especially loves Beauty & The Beast so I’ve got her a Beauty and The Beast Belle Pop! Vinyl (£14.99) from MenKind that I’m sure she’ll love to display in her room.
- To Encourage the Love of Books
The love of reading is something that is so important to encourage in children and these adorable Woodland Bunny Bookends (£18.00 each) from AnthologyFive provide the perfect solution for displaying your child’s favourites or the books he or she is currently reading. They’re available in Grey, Ocean Blue, Rosé and Yellow. They’re also available in a Woodland Squirrel design and Woodland Owl design — both also very cute!
- The Perfect Present that Grows with Your Child
This is a gift that is perfect for children aged 5 years and above. My eldest daughter has been expressing her longing for a scooter for pretty much a year now and, soon, she will have her very own scooter just like she’s wished. This one is the JD Bug Original Street Matt Purple MS130B Foldable Scooter (£48.95, also available in lots of other colours) from Skates.co.uk and it’s is considered the safest, most lightweight and most popular kids foldable scooter in the UK. It’s got an extra safe folding mechanism and comes with a carry strap for easy transport. It has an extendable handle meaning it will grow with your child. It can be used by adults up to the weight of 100kg too. Read more in my blog post here.
- Something that all Toy Collections Should Have
A wooden railway track is one of those toys that all toy collections should have. We only started building our collection earlier this year which is quite late but we were waiting for our house move. Kids LOVE wooden railway tracks and it’s one of those toys that they play with for many, many years and have so much fun with. This Christmas we’re expanding our set with a really cool set from Hape, the Hape Busy City Rail Set (£64.98). It comes with a passenger train, a freight train, automatic gates, a bridge, lots more accessories and of course plenty of wooden railway pieces to build a large train track. It’s compatible with other brands of wooden train tracks too which is great. The girls will be over the moon when they see this set!
- A Personalised Book to Love & Treasure
I love giving books as gifts and both my daughters are book worms too and always love receiving a new book. At Christmas, why not make it a bit more special with a personalised book to keep and treasure? In The Book is a children’s publishing company specialising in personalised books and they have big range of children’s books, including lots of Disney classics and favourites as personalised versions that come presented in luxury gift boxes too, ideal for giving away at Christmas. We have The Nightmare Before Christmas for my youngest and Alice in Wonderland for my eldest and I’m sure they’ll absolutely love these beautiful books!
Some of the featured items are PR samples gifted for this gift guide.
My youngest got some K’nex last year for Christmas, some for her birthday and she’s getting more for this Christmas too. It is fantastic fun!
My teen has started to collect the Pop! Vinyl figures. She is on to collecting the Stranger Things one’s at the moment.
Lovely ideas x
Thank you so much, Kim! K’Nex is a fantastic toy! :) And Pop! Vinyls are perfect for older kids. :) xx
