ergoPouch Winter Sleepsuit Bag Review – 2.5 tog with Sleeves
ergoPouch is an Australian company that designs high quality baby swaddles, sleeping bags and sleepsuit bags. Their products are all made from skin-friendly, natural fibres like organic cotton, merino and bamboo. Natural fibres are also used for the fillings as they improve breathability and temperature regulation.
For my 7-month-old baby, we have the ergoPouch winter sleepsuit bag in 2.5 Tog in the beautiful Navy Cross design.
This amazing product is a safe and cosy way to keep your baby warm in the evenings and at night without the need for duvets and blankets.
I’ve always loved baby sleeping bags and used them for a long time with my firstborn but this one from ergoPouch is very special because you can convert it from a bag to a padded suit with legs by simply zipping it up in a different way. This is so useful as it means you can easily transfer your baby from cot to pram if you need to head out early or if it’s really cold and you need extra padding to keep your little one warm. It also means that you can carry your baby in a baby carrier while he or she is still in the sleepsuit sleeping bag.
My littlest girl is not crawling or walking yet, but when she is, she can get into this sleepsuit bag when we get her ready to bed and then still continue to move around on her knees or her feet. The feet of the sleepsuit bag even have grip pads on them to ensure little walkers don’t slip.
We have the 8-24 Months one because my baby is tall and chunky. She’s quickly growing out of 9-12 Months clothes already so this size is good for her, though naturally the legs of the bag are a bit long to allow her to fit into the bag for another year and a half. We have rolled up the sleeves a little bit too.
The bag has an organic cotton sheeting outer layer and a 100% cotton filling. The long sleeves are made of cuddly cotton fleece and have fold over mitts too for extra cold nights. The super stretchy material allows natural movement and seems very comfortable.
2.5 Tog is perfect for winter temperatures between 17 and 23 degrees Celcius and you can use the temperature guide on the ergoPouch website to learn how to adjust what your baby wears underneath depending on the temperature of the room. You actually get a handy room thermometer with your sleeping bag and it has the guide printed on the back for easy reference. We keep this on the light switch in our bedroom.
The sleepsuit sleeping bag allows easy access for nappy changes — just unzip the legs or the bag at the bottom and change your baby’s nappy.
We’re very happy with this wonderful and very clever sleeping bag! My daughter stays warm and cosy all night even when it’s quite cold and I love the practical aspect of being able to convert the bag to legs.
