Feuerwear Urban Backpack Eric Review – Great as a Changing Bag

Feuerwear is a German company that makes stylish bags and accessories made of recycled fire hoses. The result is a really cool range of one-of-a-kind environmentally friendly products. Over the past ten years, they have saved a huge amount of old fire hoses and turned them into bags and accessories. Amazing!

One of their recent launches is the urban backpack Eric and I’m one of the first people in the UK to have a closer look at it.

Eric is a backpack that offers flexible storage space and a very comfortable and ergonomic design. The look is urban and cool and the bag is great for everyday city use and travel.

I’ve recently become a mum of two and that means even more stuff to carry around and less space in our pram for it. I’ve been looking for a backpack solution so that I can use the basket under the pram for our grocery shopping when needed and just carry all the baby and toddler stuff on my back.Feuerwear Urban Backpack Eric Review A Mum Reviews

I have now found it! The Feuerwear urban backpack Eric fits all the baby and toddler essentials and much more and keeps everything organised and easy to find. The backpack has a storage capacity of 17-23l depending on how you choose to use it. One of the clever aspects of this bag is that you can change its size to be bigger or smaller depending on your needs at the time.

It’s got a large and roomy main compartment and a laptop compartment for laptops up to 15 inches. On the front there are two zipped pockets one with a key strap.Feuerwear Urban Backpack Eric Review A Mum Reviews

I use the big main compartment to hold a pouch with spare clothes for the kids, a packet of wipes and nappies in two sizes. I keep a padded changing mat in the laptop compartment. In one of the front pockets I keep nappy sacks and hand sanitiser and in the other I keep sun creams. That’s everything we need most days and everything fits so neatly and I can find everything really quickly!

If we’re out for longer periods, I make the bag bigger and fit snacks and drinks too.

One thing that’s very important when choosing a backpack is comfort. The Eric bag meets all my comfort requirements. The back and the straps are well padded and so comfortable. The backpack sits high up on my back and shoulders which is exactly where it needs to be to distribute the weight in the most ergonomic way. I keep saying to people how comfy it is no matter how heavy it is and I’m impressed each time I wear it.Feuerwear Urban Backpack Eric Review A Mum Reviews

The large buckle looks nice and makes the bag so easy to open and close with one hand a must when you’re holding a wriggly baby in the other. The adjustable strap means the backpack can always be closed securely, even when it’s filled to the max.

The recycled fire hose is not only environmentally friendly but also makes the bag very sturdy and weather resistant too. Fire hose is meant to be able to be dragged through rubble and mud, to withstand flames of fire, be heat resistant and transport huge amounts of pressured water. Naturally, fire hose will make the backpack very robust and solid.

The fire hoses used also have individual markings of different fire stations and traces from missions and these marks make each item from Feuerwear truly unique.Feuerwear Urban Backpack Eric Review A Mum Reviews

The quality of this bag is incredibly high and I love using it as our changing bag and will also use it for carry on luggage when travelling. All parts of the design are amazing and the bag looks brilliant too. It’s definitely a bag that will appeal to men, so used as a changing bag, it’s absolutely one that dads can use and will happily carry around too!
