Let’s Look at Numbers & Let’s Look at Shapes by Marion Deuchars
|Let’s Look at Numbers & Let’s Look at Shapes by Marion Deuchars
My youngest and third daughter mainly has our old board book library from her older sisters but she’s got some new additions from Laurence King Publishing that we’re really enjoying reading. Both are by best-selling author and illustrator Marion Deuchars.
- Let’s Look at Shapes
This is a lovely and colourful shape primer book. We learn shapes but they’re also animals and the sun and the moon so there’s more to it.
On each spread we see the shape with its eyes closed on the left and with them open on the right.
You can use the book to learn the shapes, practice the names of the animals (and sun and moon) and to learn colours too as each spread and shape has a different colour.
My toddler also likes to point to the left page saying “It’s sleeping!” and to the right page saying “It’s awake now!”, noticing the eyes being closed and open.

- Let’s Look at Numbers
We love both these books but Let’s Look at Numbers might be my toddler’s most favourite book of all the ones in our house!
The fingerprint birds are absolutely adorable and the book is so much fun to read together. We learn numbers, actions and colours too.
We read this one over and over together and my toddler quickly memorised the words and is enjoying reading it on her own too. It’s a brilliant book for toddlers!
