Little Butterfly London Day Cream & Stretch Mark Butter Review
Little Butterfly London is a luxury, organic-certified spa brand for new mothers, newborns and infants, taking an earth-to-skin approach to wellbeing. Made in England and dermatologist-approved, this artisan independent label stays close to Mother Nature with an indulgent mix of natural ingredients.
A year ago, we tried some Little Butterfly London baby products and they were amazing so I was very excited to hear that the award-winning brand is now launching products for adults too. The new range for mums currently includes four products:
- Blossoms in Spring Illuminating Day Cream (£39.50)
- Cocoon of Bliss Stretch Mark Butter (£27.50)
- Scent of Seas Toning Body Serum (£40)
- Fall Into Dreams Mother & Baby Massage Oil (£29)
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been testing the first two products — the day cream and the stretch mark butter.
The Blossoms in Spring Illuminating Day Cream is a light but very hydrating day moisturiser that is perfect for tired skin (and new mamas!). The cream contains vitamins and botanical extracts to optimise rejuvenation and vitality. It penetrates the skin and sinks in quickly leaving a velvety and matte finish.
It contains lots of lovely ingredients such as precious oils from borage, peach, cucumber and papaya seed to help hydrate and nourish and acai berries that are high in vitamin C and antioxidants to protect skin against environmental damage. Other ingredients include collagen-enhancing Argan leaf and passionflower, pomegranate and green tea extracts help to smooth fine lines and increase firmness. Another hero ingredient is white mulberry to brighten skin and make it look more radiant, energised and youthful. That’s what I need as a sleep-deprived mother of two young children!
I love the texture of this cream — it’s creamy but almost like a gel at the same time. It doesn’t clog pores so will not cause breakouts. It’s suitable for all skin types too!
It’s a great cream that makes me feel very pampered! The scent is lovely and fresh — it reminds me of Swedish pear ice cream. The only thing missing for me is SPF as it’s a day cream.
The Cocoon of Bliss Stretch Mark Butter is an indulgent body cream made of a mix of whipped butters including cupuaçu, kokum, mango, illipe, cacao and shea to nourish the skin deeply and provide long-lasting hydration. The butters also help optimise the skin’s elasticity and manilkara leaf, Argan and sea algae extract help plump and smooth the skin to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Rooibos and arnica flower soothe the skin and help calm any itchiness.
It’s a gorgeous cream to use during and after pregnancy to pamper and protect skin, to keep it hydrated, firm and toned and to prevent and treat stretch marks.
I had my second baby three months ago and I have a few new stretch marks on my belly from this second pregnancy. I use this cream every night after my bath or shower and massage it into the skin on my belly and hips. It’s so rich and luxurious but absorbs quite quickly too.
The scent is similar or the same as the day cream and reminds me of the pear ice cream of my childhood. It’s a very fresh, sweet and summery scent and it’s a nice change from most stretch mark creams that smell quite heavy and buttery. It’s perfect for the summery weather but would of course work well during the rest of the year too.
My skin feels so nourished and pampered when I use this lovely cream and my stretch marks are less noticeable. I would love to try the body serum too!
