Blade & Rose is one of my favourite baby clothing brands! I’m sure you’ve come across their stylish and quirky leggings with fun designs on the bottom which is their specialty. The company was founded by Amanda Peffe, an entrepreneurial mother of two during her maternity leave. She named the company after each child’s middle name ‘Blade’ and ‘Rose’.

What inspired her was her then 3-month-old daughter, who always had the bottom of her leggings on show. Amanda found herself constantly pulling down her daughter’s dresses to cover her up. Then she decided to embrace the beautiful baby bottom sticking out and started to design a fun range of leggings around this whole concept.

A huge part of the process was developing a fabric quality that is durable, functional, washes well and comfortable and soft on young children’s delicate skin.

The initial range sold out quickly and now Blade & Rose which started as a small family business here in the UK have their leggings stocked all over the world. The range also includes children’s hats, tops, socks and bibs as well as lots of fun leggings!

My three-year-old daughter and I are a bit obsessed with bright colours and anything rainbow inspired and the Blade & Rose Rainbow Collection is just this!

It features a wonderful red, blue and green striped long-sleeved top, fabulous red, blue and yellow striped rainbow leggings with a cloud on the bum and green trims, a rainbow reversible bandana bib with colourful stars and rainbow stripes, Atoll blue and red socks and a matching red chunky bobble hat. All beautiful! These clothes are available in sizes between 0 and 4 years — great news for all babies and toddlers!

I don’t often put my girls in exactly the same clothes but they look amazingly cute wearing these matching rainbow tops! My eldest is wearing super hero inspired leggings that go really well with the top too. She’s also wearing her Term wellies here (brilliant wellies!).

My three-year-old loves matching with her baby sister! The tops are amazingly soft and lovely. It’s a great fabric that feels durable and comfortable. They wash really well and the colours stay bright. We’ve not had any bobbling or shrinkage.When my eldest was smaller, we had Blade & Rose leggings too (review here — they should fit Baby No. 2 now so I’ll get them out!) and they did shrink a tiny bit after the first wash and this is the case with them now too. They only shrink a small amount and this is due to the knitted type fabric, I think. They are also stretchy so can be pulled back to their original size but if you have a chunky baby — go for a size up!

My 11-month-old wears size 1-2 years and they fit her well. She’s on the chunkier side! My firstborn has always been slim and Blade & Rose leggings work really well for both body types.

The leggings and the tops fit really nicely and the leggings stay in place really well thanks to the stretch in the knit. Perfect comfort for playing in and they look so cute too! I’m really pleased with the tops’ quality too. They’re new to me and the fabric is amazing. I want to buy a few more of them because they are so nice!
