Low-Maintenance Flowers To Make Your Garden Beautifully Colourful
I love having a garden to enjoy with my family but I do not have green fingers nor do I particularly enjoy gardening. Because of this, I want a garden that is easy to look after but that still looks beautiful. My husband does all the lawn care but any flowers are up to me to sort out. That means I need low-maintenance flowers if I want them to survive the season. I have been dabbling a little bit in this area over the past few years, trying to find options that don’t require much effort and time but still add a beautiful pop of colour to our garden space.

Easy Flowers that Anyone Can Grow
Below are some flower options that are really easy to grow – perfect for beginners, anyone who doesn’t feel like a great gardener, or people who are short on time and just want a low-maintenance garden to enjoy. Let’s get started.
Wildflowers. Wildflowers are my top choice for easy and beautiful flowers. All you need is some soil in some pots or planters (or simply on the ground) and some wildflowers seeds. Get the seeds in the soil and then wait – that’s it. No need to do anything else and you’ll soon have a beautiful mix of wildflowers. Wildflower seeds are really affordable too. You can usually buy big boxes of wildflower seeds from supermarkets for just a few pounds.
Sunflowers. Sunflowers are easy to grow too and are a great statement flower for your garden. The impressive tall and large flowers look amazing! You don’t need much for sunflowers either. Some soil to pop your seed into, ideally in front of a wooden trellis for support. Place the seeds with plenty of room in between since these sizeable flowers need their own space to thrive.

Daffodils (and other bulbs). Daffodils and other bulbs such as crocus are great sturdy options that provide stunning, colourful flowers without any hassle. They are not picky about soil type and are happy in both sunny and partially shaded spots. The best thing is that they come back for many years too so once you’ve planted your bulbs, you can enjoy the flowers for years to come without having to lift a finger.
Lavender. Lavender is another low-maintenance plant that produces beautiful and fragrant flowers. The purple flowers looks great and the scent is wonderful too. Like wildflowers, lavender also attracts wildlife including bumble bees, honey bees, and butterflies.

Or How About Herbs?
There are many herbs that are easy to grow and that look beautiful in your garden as well. A few extra easy options include chives (they have lovely purple flowers too), rosemary, and mint. All of these grow well outdoors without much maintenance.
