RINGANA FRESH baby Review – Fresh, Natural Vegan Skincare Products for Children | AD

The fresh vegan skincare brand RINGANA has launched a new product range, FRESH baby, specifically developed for children aged 0-4 years.

The RINGANA Brand

The RINGANA story started in Austria in 1996 with Ulla Wannemacher and Andreas Wilfinger. Their child brought home a toothpaste from kindergarten which contained the questionable ingredient triclosan which inspired the duo to launch better alternatives, making the world a better place.

For many years RINGANA have been freeing men’s and women’s bathroom cabinets from mineral oils, excessive emulsifiers, preservatives and metal soaps and replacing them with fresh, efficient and sustainable products. Now they’ve created a range for babies and children with the same standards too.

The RINGANA FRESH baby Range:

Baby skin is 3-5 times thinner than adult skin and the protective function of the skin is not yet fully developed, meaning baby skin is more prone to dryness and toxins can penetrate the skin more easily. The skin of babies and young children is sensitive and delicate so need products that have been developed specifically for their needs.

Their needs are simple though – babies don’t need many products at all which is why the new FRESH baby range from RINGANA only consists of four products, the essential. These are of the purest quality with carefully selected ingredients to suit the real needs of sensitive baby and children’s skin.

The products are made with a mix of high-end plant oils and valuable plant extracts of organic and pharmaceutical-grade quality, and they have the official COSMOS organic natural-cosmetic certification. The products do not contain any allergenic perfumes, but they do contain a special ingredient – a specific cotton cell extract – to soothe skin. Just like all RINGANA products, this range is also vegan, free of synthetic colours, perfumes and preservatives, mineral oils, parabens, PEG emulsifiers, etc. They are also dermatologically tested.

The new range includes four products for little ones:

• FRESH baby body & hair wash (RRP 50 ml, £6.70)
• FRESH baby bum cream (RRP 50 ml, £9.48)
• FRESH baby bum foam (RRP 50 ml, £8.61)
• FRESH baby oil (RRP 50 ml, £7.66)

Let’s have a closer look at these four products.

The FRESH baby body & hair wash is a mild washing gel for both hair and body. The gentle formula is pH-friendly and does not make eyes sting. If you have little ones, you’ll know that this is an important feature of any hair washing product! The wash contains extracts of oat, cotton, and witch hazel to soothe skin and prevent irritation. It also contains Ectoin to support the skin barrier as well as almond and sesame oil which have a lipid-restoring effect and also helps untangle hair. This wash is lovely to use as a body wash and shampoo, leaving skin moisturised and protected and hair clean and soft. I love multi-purpose products like this to keep things simple and the bathroom decluttered!

The FRESH baby bum cream is a soothing cream for the nappy area. It contains witch hazel and cotton extract, natural almond, sesame, and jojoba oil. The formula strengthens the skin barrier and leaves a breathable protective film on the skin to prevent nappy rash. Great for any babies and children in nappies but also a good staple to have for children who are out of nappies as soreness can still occur. It can also be used to soothe other areas of dry skin.

The FRESH baby bum foam product is an eco-friendly alternative to baby wipes to use at home or on the go. The foam can easily be applied to a soft reusable baby wipe/wash cloth to create a waste-free alternative to baby wipes. The foam cleanses the sensitive skin of the nappy area gently, but thoroughly and contains skin soothing witch hazel extract and cotton extract to look after the delicate skin. It doesn’t need to be rinsed off and can also be used on hands and faces which is brilliant.

The FRESH baby oil is an excellent all-rounder that can be used as part of your daily skincare routine for your children to moisturise or cleanse skin, as a bath oil or for relaxing baby massage. It can of course be used by adults too! The lovely oil is made from pharmaceutical-grade sesame, jojoba, almond and evening primrose oil from controlled organic cultivation and also contains organic extracts of oats and vanilla too soothe the skin and provide an antioxidant effect. It’s a great product that I love adding to my children’s baths to nourish their skin while they’re having fun, splashing about. It leaves their skin feeling super soft and hydrated.

All RINGANA products are FRESH – so ideally should be used within 10 weeks of opening. I like this aspect too, as when you keep your skincare and your children’s skincare minimal, you will easily use up the products within this time frame.
