Manuka Honey World is a website where you can find everything you’ll ever want to know about manuka honey and choose between loads of different types of honey for eating as well as skincare products and health care products made with manuka honey.
I love a spoon of honey in my tea and am curious about the health benefits of manuka honey. It tastes good too! I’m currently trying two new types.
The first one is the Watson & Son 5+ Manuka Honey (£24.95) which is certified 5+ according to the Molan Gold Standard (MGS). It’s said to be a good honey to start with if you’re new to manuka honey.
“Watson & Son have established a large network of trusted beekeepers over the country and also a sophisticated extraction centre to ensure the quality and purity of the manuka honey the company produces. The focus is on rigorous testing and scientific data about the honey the company produces since much of Watson & Son’s production goes towards medical grade manuka honey for pharmaceutical and therapeutic products.”
This honey from New Zealand is quite runny and perfect for everyday use. It’s got quite an earthy taste in my opinion and tastes really nice in green tea. It goes well in coffee too and if you want to experience the full flavour of this high quality manuka honey, spread it on your toast.
The second one is Steens UMF 10+ Raw Manuka Honey which is a honey that is full of flavour! The Unique Manuka Factor (UMF) is 10+ and this label shows that it’s been tested according to current research to prove its authenticity and the strength of its antibacterial properties. Steens has been making manuka honey for over 30 years and makes high quality manuka honey in a way that is ethical and sustainable too.
It’s a delicious honey and it’s very affordable too at only £14.00. It is a raw honey that has been extracted with methods that ensure every little bit of goodness ends up in the jar. I use this one in my tea too. It’s also got an earthy and very natural flavour that works well with most types of teas. This one is slightly milder compared to the Watson & Son one.
