The Amazing Alphabet Personalised Children’s Book by Tinyme
Personalised children’s books are very popular and there are many on the market but The Amazing Alphabet by Tinyme is a quite a bit different from the rest. It is not only fully personalised, but also works with a free augmented reality app that helps the storybook come to life as you’re reading it with your children. It makes a very special experience that children (and adults) love.
The book itself is personalised with your child’s name in an educational story. The book is about your child as he or she sets off on an adventure to help Little z find his perfect friend. On the way, you meet up with lots of colourful and quirky characters/letters from the alphabet and make lots of new friends. It’s a story about friendship but it also helps children learn the alphabet.
We used a nickname for our daughter which is Baby *something* but it’s advised to use your child’s first and last name. Both will show in the dedication but only the first name will feature in the story. I would have hyphenated the nickname to make sure it was in all parts of the book instead of just Baby but I didn’t know before ordering.
The book and story is beautiful and I love the fun characters that the letters are. My three-year-old loves pointing out the details and there are lots of them. She’s very into letters and loves learning so it’s perfect for her.
If you get the free app, you can hover over the book on the pages with a phone icon and see the characters jump out of the page in 3D with music and sound effects. It’s lots of fun! The app can even read the story to the child. This is a great idea and such a modern and fun way for kids to engage with the book and the story.
My daughter loves this book and I do too. I think it’s a wonderful concept and I really like that you can read it with or without the app depending on the situation.
“As a Dad of 6 I’ve spent 100’s & 100’s of hours reading books to my kids, encouraging them to have a deep love for reading. I’ve also spent quite a bit of time playing around with a bunch of pretty cool kids apps. As someone who founded a studio which writes, illustrates, develops software and even physically prints personalised books for kids, I’m really excited by what our team at Tinyme has now created.”
— Mike Wilson, founder
Tinyme is a design, software development and manufacturing studio solely focused on mass customisation. The business runs in Australia, US and UK and is run by 3 dads with 15 kids between them. The company established in 2006 as a 1 person spare bedroom startup and is now a successful business with over 50 dedicated people in the team.
Tinyme makes loads of different personalised products and have some really interesting things on the website. I love the look of the wooden puzzles.
