This month, Sudocrem, the ultimate multi-tasking skincare brand, launched the first ever awards dedicated to celebrating the love of pre-loved – The Great British Pre-Loved Awards.

The thrift revolution has begun as more and more people favour buying pre-loved over new. Over the last five years, the UK clothes resale market has grown by a staggering 149% and now over a third of the UK public are buying more second-hand items. Slow fashion and buying pre-loved is here to stay. It’s better for the environment, our wallets and makes our styles more interesting too!  

Sudocrem is searching for both individuals and retailers who champion the win-win merits of thrifting to celebrate the pre-loved revolution.

“We want to celebrate the people and places who fly the flag for pre-loved fashion and give pre-loved clothes another moment in the spotlight,” says Alice Bamford, Senior OTC Marketing Manager for Sudocrem. “Helping families to save money is at the heart of what we do and when we launched Sudocrem Naturals, which is fully recyclable, we took a big step forward to becoming a more sustainable brand. The Sudocrem Pre-Loved Awards is part of our ongoing commitment to encourage recycling and reusing.”

To help with the search, they have enlisted sewing enthusiast Brogan Sommerville, 2002 finalist on The Great British Sewing Bee to launch and judge the awards.

“The Sudocrem Pre-Loved Awards are the Oscars of savvy second-hand shopping and upcycling,” says Brogan. “I’m never happier than when I’m customising second-hand clothes. Local charity shops or vintage emporiums are the perfect place to bag a unique bargain and build an outfit that’s as unique as you are.”

There are 6 categories that you can enter: Mum & Baby Stylefluencer, Young Professional Stylefluencer, Senior Stylefluencer, Best Charity/Vintage Shop, Best Vintage Fair/Market and Best Pre-Loved Online.
