The Raccoons – The Beloved TV Series is Now Available as Books! | AD
It’s been 40 years since The Raccoons premiered on our screens in 1985. As you might remember (if you’re of a certain age), the Canadian animated TV series, created by Kevin Gillis, charmed audiences across Canada, the U.S. and beyond in the 1980’s and 90’s. Now, award-winning UK publisher Candy Jar Books has partnered with Canadian animation studio Run With Us Productions and Andrews UK to launch exclusive hardback editions of the UK novels based on the series.

The Raccoons New Book Series
The first three titles in the books series are available now on Amazon globally, as e-books and as paperbacks:
These books bring a fresh twist to the classic series and introduce the characters to a new generation. The books have the perfect blend of anarchic humour, heartfelt storytelling, and environmental themes.
The story is set in the Evergreen Forest and each book follows the adventures of Bert Raccoon, his best friend Cedric Sneer, the intrepid Melissa and Ralph, faithful Schaeffer the dog, and the scheming (but oddly lovable) pink aardvark Cyril Sneer.

The book series are written by a powerhouse team of children’s authors: John Peel (author of Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Eerie Indiana, and Doctor Who novels), Iain McLaughlin (former editor of The Beano and author of The Tomorrow People), and Chris McGuide (TV producer of Hannah-Oke, Me:TV, and Pet School). They have written one book each of the three books in the series so far.
The novels have been designed for co-reading to encourage parents and children to enjoy the stories together. There are seven chapters in each book – one for each day of the week. This offers an easy and engaging reading routine to enjoy with your child at bedtime. Additionally, the books include QR codes that link to exclusive interactive video and music content to deepen the experience.
