Turn Screen Time into Learning Time with PlayShifu’s Tacto Games | AD
There’s no doubt that children (and adults!) like to play games on iPads and other electronic devices, but they also love playing classic games.
PlayShifu is an early learning toys company that offers immersive, educational toys for kids aged 4-12 and they have recently launched the first-ever phygital (physical+digital) board games.
The range is called Tacto and, with a bunch of fun games, it merges screen time with learning time. The interactive games teach children important skills while they’re having lots of fun too.
“Built on innovative touch technology and AI, Tacto by PlayShifu turns your tablet into an interactive game to play with real figurines that drive the gameplay on screen.”
There are six Tacto game sets to choose from and they all come with a unique set of figurines and frames that hold the tablet securely. All the games work with the free Tacto app and have three or more story-based games (with hundreds of levels in each one).
The six games that are currently available are:
Tacto Classics with a fun storytelling twist to classic board game favourites. Includes strategy games that help develop planning skills and fundamental maths skill.
Tacto Chess lets you play the ultimate strategy game through a unique AI-driven learning mode or choose to battle it out in a story-based setting with friends or family.
Tacto Laser focuses on exploring the science of light with thrilling story-based games where you do things like reflect or split light to overcome obstacles and develop problem-solving skills.
Tacto Coding challenges you to programme your way through each level with story-based game play. With visual cues for beginners or Scratch for children who are experienced with coding basics. Great skills for modern kids to learn!
Tacto Dino has interactive games and activities set in a prehistoric world where your child’s favorite dinosaurs come alive! Ideal for dinosaur fans!
Tacto Electronics that will spark an interest in tinkering, with lots of fun ideas to explore and test in a story-based setting.
Tacto is compatible with the following tablets.
iPad 4 and above (iPad 2 and iPad Mini 1 not supported)
Android tablets 7-inches and above, minimum 2GB RAM (Samsung Tab A not supported)
Fire HD 8 – 2018, 2020 and Fire HD 10 – 2021 (Fire 7 not supported)
It’s really easy to get started with your Tacto game. Everything you need is in the box so all you need to do is download the app onto your tablet, then you can start playing.
My kids were so excited to play Tacto Laser – especially my eldest who is really into science. The exciting world of innovative phygital toys is here to stay and take children’s learning and playing to another level. It’s great to see how screen time can become a hands-on, positive learning experience that children enjoy and that parents are happy with too.
We were sent a game to try. As always, all my reviews are 100% honest and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I'm a mum in my early 30s with over 15 years of childcare experience working as a private nanny, babysitter and a few years as a nursery teacher. Now I've got my own family too! I love finding great products for mums and kids.
