Book Review: Little Big Rooms | New Nurseries & Rooms to Play in
As you might know, we are finally moving house later this year! We are very excited to move to a larger house that is better suited for our family. In our current house, we don’t have a proper children’s room for our daughters. Our youngest is 2 years old and she’s still sleeping in our bedroom. She has her own bed (that she rarely stays in!) but not a room of her own. Our eldest is four years old and she’s in the smaller of the two bedrooms of our house but that room is also where we keep our desk and store other things too so it’s not her own either.
I love interior design and especially love functional and fun spaces for children — I even have a dedicated Pinterest board for children’s room inspiration! I’m really excited that soon, we’ll finally be able to create rooms for our girls that are just about them and their needs and interests. They’ll be sharing a bedroom to start with as we think they’ll enjoy that more and then we’ll also have a separate playroom so there are two rooms that will need planning and decorating.

To help me get some great ideas, I’ve got a brilliant new book from Gestalten called Little Big Rooms – New Nurseries and Rooms to Play in. It’s such a beautiful, fun and inspirational book! I can only show you four spreads in this post but they give you a good idea of what to expect.

“How do you set up a children’s room that is fun, colorful, and fresh? One that gives children room for playing, daydreaming, and letting their imaginations run wild?”
Little Big Rooms is all about helping you to set up children’s rooms that are fun, practical, colourful and fresh to encourage your children to play and daydream and just be kids. The book offers lots of inspiration for parents along with helpful tips and ideas for fun looks and clever storage solutions, along with furniture and accessory recommendations too.

The book covers pretty much everything — from nurseries to teens and how to change rooms to suit new needs. The rooms in the book showcase beautiful places for children to play in and sleep in, to relax and read in and to concentrate and create in too.

It’s like all the best Pinterest interiors collected in a gorgeous book with the bonus of written advice too. I love it and I’m so excited to take some of the things I’ve seen in Little Big Rooms and use the ideas in our new house.
