Sweet Cherry Publishing is one of the country’s foremost independent publishers of children’s literature. Their books are created to capture the attention of curious children and spark their imaginations. Sweet Cherry Publishing is committed to producing beautiful and engaging books for children of all ages.
The company want to offer the readers the opportunity to revisit their favourite characters again and again by creating stories that will stand the test of time.
We’ve been sent a few books to have a look at. We have A Case of Good Manners, Dr Hedgehog and Mr Pattacake.
A Case of Good Manners is a set of 12 small board books for toddlers that come delivered in a nice glossy carry case with a handle. It’s a great little collection of books all about good behaviour and features the following titles:
- Excuse Me
- Helping
- Please
- Sharing
- Honesty
- Confidence
- Thank You
- Listening
- Keep Trying
- Sorry
- Taking Turns
- Kindness
My toddler daughter (2.5 years old) loves miniature books to read, to organise and play with so this set is great for her. I really like that they came in the case but unfortunately we had to get rid of it as the books were wedged too tightly in the slots and difficult for both my daughter and myself to get out. My daughter hurt her fingers quite badly when she tried so we are just using the books without the case.
The books themselves are really nice and fun. We love the different bright colours and the topics are a great way to talk more about good behaviour. If you turn the books over they also make a jigsaw!
The 3 book collection of Dr Hedgehog books consists of the currently available Dr Hedgehog books. More are coming soon! Dr Hedgehog is a hedgehog who is also a doctor, naturally. He loves to help and always comes to the rescue when Little Martin Mouse frequently gets into trouble! It’s quite a sweet series with lots of illustrations.
My daughter is a bit too young for the Mr Pattacake series that tells the delicious stories of a goodhearted, eccentric chef and his food-loving, lazy ginger car Treacle. Something always goes wrong on the job so the duo always has to save the day and the food!
The books are full of funny, bizarre characters and disastrous adventures and the stories are all written with a good sense of humour. Great for older children who like fun and exciting stories with a bit of crazy madness added in. The stories are illustrated and easy to read.
We were sent these books for this review. As always, all my reviews are 100% honest and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
