Brilliant Toys for Kids This Christmas | 2022 Gift Guide | AD

It’s getting close to that time of year again. Christmas is only two months away now so it’s time to start thinking about Christmas presents to help you plan ahead for the festive season and to help spread the cost of things too. In this article, I’ve gathered some of my favourite toy gift ideas for kids this year. Read on for some fun suggestions for little ones.

• Hape Learn with Lights Piano

I’m going to start with my top choice for a big toy gift which is this beautiful, electric wooden piano from Hape. It’s designed to look like a real piano but in a size perfect for young children from age 3+ and it is so cute! The piano has 25 light-up keys and comes with a colour-coded instruction booklet with familiar songs to learn to play along with.

This mini piano has lots of brilliant functions, including a record and playback option, 15 demo tunes, a Smart Play option and many more settings such as six instrument sounds and six stylized accompaniments to encourage the love of music in children and teach them the basics of playing the piano. It’s perfect for young musicians and a great quality toy that builds confidence and creativity as your child learns more and more.

The Hape Learn with Lights Piano can be used with batteries or with the included cable which is great. To save power, the piano will enter rest mode if not used for three minutes after the background music finishes.

• Geomag Recycled Magnetic Construction Sets

We absolutely love Geomag toys in our house – the girls will play and build with them for hours and keep coming up with new ideas for builds. Geomag toys are perfect STEM toys that encourage creative and educational play. The sets consist of interlocking panels in different shapes, steel spheres and powerful magnetic rods that you build together to create limitless constructions. • Dantoy BIOplastic Garden Toys

Dantoy makes brilliant children’s toys made from BIOplastic which is an eco-friendly material made from sugarcane. The products are manufactured in Denmark. Here you can see two sets that are perfect for garden play – but they can also be played with indoors.

This adorable Dantoy Ice Cream Kit from Smallable consists of 11 parts in gorgeous colours. The set invites children to play and learn and helps develop fine motor skills and communication skills. The toys are dishwasher safe which is great, especially if you want to move them from the garden back indoors.

• Orchard Toys Tummy Ache (2022 Edition)

A new game to enjoy over the holidays and beyond is a great gift! I’m sure you will have heard of Orchard Toys’ Tummy Ache – it’s a classic food lotto game that’s been a family favourite for over 35 years. We first bought it a few years ago when I was stocking up on educational games for my kids and it’s been a favourite ever sense. Now, there’s a new version to celebrate the 35-year-anniversary with some modern updates to the game’s food and drink options and design.

The aim of the game is to put together an edible meal on your place setting but you have to watch out for anything yucky that might cause a tummy ache (the cards with bugs on the food!). You pick up food and drink cards from the pile, then place them on the different sections of your place setting. If you get a tummy ache card, shout “Tummy Ache!” and place the card on your board until it can be replaced later in the game. The first player to fill their board with edible food cards is the winner.

It’s a great game that’s fun and easy to learn for little ones. The bugs are funny, and the game encourages conversation as children chat about what foods and drinks they like and don’t like. Tummy Ache is suitable for children aged 3-7 years and can be enjoyed with friends and family at home or in school environments.

• Orchard Toys Ice Palace Jigsaw Puzzle
