You might have spotted my earlier review of Kijani Night Time Pull Ups here. We’re also testing the Kijani XL Nappy Wrap with XL Bamboo & Cotton inserts and testing the wrap with the brand new Kijani Hybrid Inserts too.

The XL Nappy Wraps from Kijani are ethically made nappy wraps to fit toddlers and children weighing between 14 and 30kg. They are generously sized wraps with a double layer which makes them very durable and more leak-proof too. The outside is either an African Kitenge fabric or a printed PUL, depending on the design you choose. We have the print Cutie Fruity which is a double PUL one. I picked this print as I knew my toddler would love the fun fruit characters.

The inside of the cover is a wipeable, solid colour PUL which means you can reuse the wrap a few times before it needs to be washed.

The inside of the wrap features a snap at the back so that you can snap in your insert. You can also use them with loose inserts, flats, prefolds, Hybrid Inserts or over fitted nappies.

The cover has an elasticated back and front for extra leak protection and the elastics on the legs are strong but gentle for great containment.

At the waist, you’ll find two rows of poppers to adjust the size and fit and the wrap also features rise poppers to make it smaller or bigger. It’s a great wrap that’s very sturdy and fits my toddler very well!

Kijani XL Insert

Let’s have a look at the different inserts from Kijani. First, the XL Snap In Bamboo / Cotton Nappy Insert. This XL insert is made from bamboo and cotton jersey to provide plenty of absorbency from natural fibres. It’s super soft and has a very clever design.

It’s got elastics on the sides to create a double gusset which provides excellent containment and it’s also got a waterproof backing so that the wrap stays dry and can be reused a few times before needing to be washed.

This also offers you versatility as these types of inserts can be used on top of a pocket nappy cover or with delaminated wraps thanks to the built-in PUL on the back.

Another cool design feature is that the last three inches of this long insert does not have any PUL on it so that it can be folded over to fit nappy wraps of different sizes.

The top of the insert is a soft suedecloth which creates a stay dry layer to keep your little one’s skin dry and comfortable.

Kijani Hybrid Nappies

Now onto the new Kijani Hybrid inserts which are disposable inserts that are free from plastic, dye and perfume.

They are a brilliant idea and provide a convenient alternative to reusable nappies. They are sustainable too and made to be composted. They are made from bamboo, wood pulp and SAP.

Kijani Hybrid Nappies

You can use one Hybrid Insert or layer two on top of each other in a nappy wrap or add one to a disposable nappy for more absorbency. For newborn nappy wraps, you can fold the insert over in half.

Kijani Hybrid Nappies

They come in a box of 16 and cost just £5.95 which is a great price. We are testing these Hybrid Inserts with the XL wrap and have also used them with a few other wraps that we had at home already. I’m really impressed with their absorbency and think they’re a great option for travelling or whenever else you need a more convenient option.

I’m very impressed with all the products from Kijani Baby! The XL wrap is my favourite as it’s so versatile and is a great fit for my toddler. I especially love it over fitted nappies as it provides great coverage and a comfortable fit for wearing overnight.
