Mr Lee’s Noodles Review – New & Improved Healthy Instant Noodles

I can’t believe it’s been nearly four years since I first sampled Mr Lee’s Noodles! A few things have happened since then for my family but also for Mr Lee’s Noodles! They have further improved their recipes, updated the packaging and have a new brand image too.

Instant noodles are generally an unhealthy meal option but Mr Lee’s Noodles are different from the rest. Their award-winning noodles make a quick meal without any nasties and each cup is packed with real freeze-dried ingredients, locking in all their nutrients and goodness. The whole range is certified gluten free, is low in sugar and there are vegetarian and vegan options included too. The packaging is easy to recycle too as the paper sleeve just peels off the recyclable cup.

We’ve samples the new and improved range and they have been great during the busy lockdown life that we’re living at the moment. My husband and I are both working from home, homeschooling and looking after our three young children. Life is hectic and stressful and, some days, it’s so helpful to have a quick and easy lunch option.

The range includes the following flavours:

  • Zen Garden Vegetables | Harmonious Miso Rice Noodles with Asparagus, Green Beans, Spinach & Ginger.
  • Dragon Fire Vegetables | Hot & Sour Rice Noodles with Mushroom, Bamboo Shoots, Ginger & Green Beans.

These two are both vegan and I’ve been sampling these as I’m the vegetarian of the family. The Zen Garden Vegetables one is my favourite love the miso and the choice of vegetables in this one!

  • Hong Kong Street Beef | Bold & Vibrant beef rice noodles with broccoli, orange blossom honey, ginger & Chinese 5 spice.
  • Warrior Fighting Shrimp | Kick-Ass Tom Yum Rice Noodles with Shrimp, Coconut, Galangal, Bamboo Shoots & Lemongrass.

The Hong Kong Street Beef was a hit again and so was the Warrior Fighting Shrimp. These noodles are made with real ingredients so the shrimp scent is very strong but that’s fine now that my husband is working form home!

  • Tai Chi Chicken | Soul-Warming Chicken Broth Rice Noodles with Broccoli, Spinach, Ginger & Orange Blossom Honey.
  • Coconut Chicken Laksa | Fragrant Chicken Curry Rice Noodles With Coconut, Cauliflower, Green Beans & Turmeric.

The Coconut Chicken Laksa is my husband’s favourite the curry and coconut work really well together!

To make the noodles, you simply boil some water and fill up your noodle cup. More water equals more broth and less equals stronger flavours. I prefer less broth and a more intense flavour. I’m really fond of some soy sauce and sesame oil drizzled on top as well but that’s a little addiction of mine and the Mr Lee’s Noodles are full of flavour on their own too. I love the real ingredients that come to life again in the hot water and love that these noodles exist as a healthy alternative to other instant noodles.
