The sunshine is back and it finally feels like spring again after a few weeks of cold and rain here in the UK. That’s what April weather is usually like though. Hopefully the sunshine is here to stay for May. To celebrate the return of the sun, I’ve created a nature inspired spring table setting in collaboration with Viners and Mason Cash.
My Nature Inspired Spring Table Setting
As soon as I spotted the Mason Cash Reactive Collection dinnerware and its gorgeous natural colours, I knew that I wanted to do a nature inspired spring theme for my table setting.
Creating a table setting is like creating a piece of artwork. You start at the base, with the background, and work upwards, adding the details.
Building the Table Setting Design
Since my table is already a good fit for a natural theme, I didn’t want to cover it completely with a table cloth. Instead I layer a linen table runner with a stunning birch tree print with a large green linen square. This adds some detail, texture and colour without cover the table. Then I used my Woven Seagrass + Jute Tablemats. These have a bright yellow trim that is perfect for a spring theme. They serve as the perfect base for the beautiful dinnerware from Mason Cash.
I also used black linen napkins and presented a fork and knife on each. I used some of my bangles as napkin rings which I think works very well. They’re not all the same which is true for things in nature too. The soup spoon is on the other side of the plates and the small spoon at the top. The cutlery is from the Viners Everyday Orbit range which is a stylish and simple design suitable for all occasions.
For a table centrepiece, I used a wooden board from Mason Cash (In The Forest Round Serving Board). On this I placed a large lemon candle. Then, I decorated the centre area of the table with some purple flowers from the garden. The colour combination of purple, green, and yellow is perfect for spring.
For glassware, I opted for green glasses made from recycled wine bottles, with a matching carafe for water. Here, you can also see some of the stunning barware from Viners. Specifically, a Silver Champagne Bucket and a Silver Cocktail Shaker. Both very stylish and perfect for adult beverages!
