Autumn is well and truly here! When the seasons change, it’s nice to update things in the home to match. There are many ways to do this and what works best depends on your taste, your home, and the season itself. A lovely way to incorporate the current changing season into your home is to add some autumnal décor.

In this article we are focusing on how to create an autumn inspired table setting. Autumn is a great time to invite friends and family around for a warming meal in a cosy environment. You can make the experience extra special by adding some autumnal touches to your table and your home.

Housewares experts Viners and Mason Cash have identified two key themes to bring to the table this autumn which we will explore further below.

  • Go For the Colours Of The Season

Autum is a colourful season, full of stunning rich and warm colours that look amazing both outdoors and indoors. Choose decorative details in deep reds, burnt oranges and golden yellows to represent the season and completement these beautiful colours with mini white pumpkins and charming candlelight for that extra special atmosphere.

You can go for real candles or artificial candles. These days, there are excellent artificial candles that look real and even have flickering flames. Artificial candles are always a good idea if you have young children or if you have a table setting that features lots of decorative items that could get into the flames.

  • Bring The Outdoors to The Table

A great way to celebrate the season is to bring some of the outdoors in. You can do this by serving food on beautiful wooden chopping boards, setting the table with rattan tablemats or wooden charger plates, and adding centerpieces with natural elements to the table. You can use pine cuttings, for example, which are not only decorative but also provide a fragrant touch. Other options include pinecones, faux berries, and faux leaves that you can use to create a stunning centerpiece design.

If you have a wooden table, let the beautiful material show and simply add a table runner to incorporate a bit of colour to the surface and to separate the space for the decorations across the middle of the table.
