Ingredients

  • 135g pack of Hartley’s Strawberry Jelly Cubes
  • 135g pack of Hartley’s Orange Jelly Cubes
  • 135g pack of Hartley’s Lime Jelly Cubes
  • 135g pack of Hartley’s Lemon Jelly Cubes
  • 410g evaporated milk

Equipment

  • Plastic Egg Moulds (available from craft shops and Amazon.co.uk)
  • Insulation Tape
  • Small Drill Bit & Drill
  • Egg Rack or 8 Egg Cups
  • Kitchen Paper
  • Small Funnel
  • Vegetable Oil

Method

Follow the instructions below to make your jelly eggs!

  1. Gather your ingredients.
  2. Prepare your moulds by drilling a small hole on the top. Generously seal any other holes with insulation tape.
  3. Make jelly flavours with 100ml boiling water. Divide each jelly into two jugs. Add 75ml of cold water to one. Once cool, add 75ml of evaporated milk to the other.
  4. Grease the inside of each egg with some vegetable oil. Use the funnel to divide the clear Strawberry jelly between the moulds.Recipe Easter A Mum Reviews
  5. Carefully place in the fridge to set for 1 hour.
  6. Use the funnel to divide the milky strawberry jelly between the moulds.
  7. Carefully place in the fridge to set for 1 hour.
  8. Repeat the process for Orange, Lime and Lemon jelly. Put in the fridge to set. Remove the tape and open the moulds to carefully remove the eggs.

The recipe will make 8 beautiful Easter Jelly Eggs. The preparation time is approximately 1 hour and the setting time is 7 hours. Take the setting time to get outdoors and enjoy some fun Easter family activities.
