Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit Review – Mealtimes Without the Mess

Weaning and feeding babies and toddlers is very messy! I don’t know how many times each day I wipe down the table, chair and sweep and clean the floor… It feels like a never ending circle of feeding and cleaning and with three meals and some snacks each day, it pretty much is!

My baby is 8-months-old and we’ve been weaning her since she was around 4.5 months because she was interested in food at that age already. She’s doing really well and enjoying lots of different foods and textures and can feed herself too. We do a mix of baby food and baby led weaning and the latter is very messy because babies like to play with their food and explore it with their hands before eating it and that always results with some food ending up on the floor.Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit Review - Mealtimes Without the Mess A Mum Reviews

The Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit is a multi-award winning weaning kit that ensures your baby’s mealtimes are a lot less messy! The kit contains a coverall bib with long sleeves that protects your baby’s clothes and a pop-up tray that fits onto your highchair and attaches to the bib with strong Velcro to eliminate the gap between baby and the highchair.Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit Review - Mealtimes Without the Mess A Mum Reviews

My baby can open the Velcro but she only plays with it if she’s not got any food on the tray so I just make sure she’s always got something to eat or play with.Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit Review - Mealtimes Without the Mess A Mum Reviews

The tray is generously sized and big enough for lots of messy food and can even be used for crafts too if your child is a bit older. The tray has suction cups on the bottom that attach to your highchair tray or your dining table.

This unique design prevents any food or spillages from falling into your baby’s lap and down the highchair. There is a gap at the back as the bib only attaches at the front but babies don’t generally spill there.Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit Review - Mealtimes Without the Mess A Mum Reviews

The Tidy Tot was designed by a mum of three with parents and babies in mind. The product is really clever and keeps mess and food waste to a minimum. The tray is wider than a baby can reach to avoid food being dropped to the floor and the green colour offers a good contrast as an eating surface for your baby’s food to support hand-eye co-ordination. Of course, the tray is made from materials that are safe for babies to eat off.

The bib can be machine washed and tumble dried but is also easy to wash quickly in the sink. I actually prefer to wash it like this as it’s faster and no fluff from other washing gets stuck to it. It dries very quickly too I just hang it up on the radiator airer. The neckline can be adjusted to grow with your baby. I suggest buying an additional bib so that you have one to use when the first one is drying. The fit seems really comfortable and I love the cute pattern! The tray is so easy to clean I just wipe it down and then dry it with a piece of tissue before folding away. It folds up neatly and easily! I have kept the plastic pouch that it came in as it’s perfect for storing the tray in. It’s also handy when you want to take the Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit with you somewhere.

The Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit is a very useful weaning product, especially if you’re doing BLW, and one that you will use for a long time. It can take quite some time before your child stops being messy at mealtimes! Then you can use it for crafts with your older child imagine not having to pick up Play-Doh from the floor…
