Wicked Uncle’s New Big Kidz Range – Gifts for Older Children
Wicked Uncle is a brilliant online shop specialising in gifts for children. It’s a great website that makes it really easy for you to find a present for a child. You can specify gender if you wish, choose a toy/product category and search by suitable age group — from babies to age 12 and now also buy gifts for older kids from the new Big Kidz range.
The Big Kidz range covers teens and upwards and consist of fun, quirky and unusual gifts for anyone aged 13 and above — adults included.
Some of the gifts used to be in Wicked Uncle’s previous “Teens” category and have now been joined by a bunch of brilliant new products that are fun for Big Kidz of all ages and new products are added often. You’ll find things like Poker Kits, Funky Beach Towels, Festival-ready Face and Body Paint, gadgets, games and novelty gifts.
We ordered a couple of things from this new category and went for the Quadrillion – IQ Logic Game (£17.95) and the IQ Puzzler Pro – 2D & 3D Brain Teaser (£9.95). Both these games are fun for children, teens and adults which is great. They can easily be adapted to whichever difficulty level you wish to make it challenging whatever age you are.
Quadrillion, the ultimate solitaire game, is a fun and brain challenging game for one player. The game consists of 4 double-sided magnetic grids and 12 large puzzle pieces. You start a new challenge by snapping the four magnetic grids together (lots of combinations are possible) and then the aim of the game is to fit the 12 puzzle pieces on the game board without placing any on the black or white dots
You can flip, turn, place, arrange, rearrange and connect them all until the puzzle’s solved. You can create your own challenges or follow the 60 challenges in the booklet. Each challenge has multiple solutions. If you follow the booklet, you can get different difficulty levels by finding the first few pieces’ correct positions to get you started.
This game is suitable from 7 years and above, but my 4.5-year-old loves it and is quite good at it too! My youngest is 2 years old and she loves playing with the chunky puzzle pieces but is too young to play. I love playing the game too and it makes a great family game thanks to the different levels.
The IQ Puzzler Pro is similar to Quadrillion in some ways but a completely different game. The puzzle pieces are nearly the same but a lot smaller and this game is played inside the travel case it comes in. You can play 2D games on either of the two sides (different layout) or go for a more challenging 3D game and build a pyramid out of the pieces.
You use combinations of the coloured connected balls puzzle pieces and the challenge is to complete the designs from the booklet that is split into levels of difficulty from easy to expert and everything in between. There are 120 challenges that get harder by you having to work out more missing pieces.
It’s a great game for kids aged 6 and above and just as fun for children, teens or adults. The handy travel case and small size makes it a perfect travel game that you can enjoy anywhere and it’s a huge bonus that the whole family can play the same game. My four-year-old loves this one too — she’s really into puzzles and problem solving.
We love both our new brain challenging games — I’m sure these games will help our kids develop their problem solving skills and they’re great for us adults too.
We also picked up a Unicorn Squeeze Popper from Wicked Uncle which is pretty much a squishy unicorn that lets your little ones pop rainbow coloured soft balls as far as 20 feet. Both my girls love this toy and have lots of fun with it both indoors and outdoors.
We love shopping with Wicked Uncle — it’s really an awesome place to shop for presents for children of any ages and now Big Kidz too!
