The Body Shop’s Drops Of Youth Skincare Products Review

There’s a brand new anti-aging, youth enhancing range from The Body Shop called Drops of Youth and it’s full of potent products that help make skin smoother, bouncier and look more youthful.

The Body Shop searched the world to sustainably source three resilient plants that survive in the harshest environments thanks to their exceptional properties and have extracted their stem cells through a biotechnological process which lets them preserve the plants. Stem cells are the “renewal engine” of a plant, making it thrive and renew. They’re very precious and one of the strongest regenerating powers in nature.

The ones used in the new Drops of Youth range are:

  • Criste Marine from the rocky coastline of North Brittany, France, known for being a skin-renewing champion.
  • Sea Holly from the sandy shores of South Brittany, France, known for its firming properties.
  • Edelweiss from the high alpine mountains of Trentino-Alto, Italy, known for its protective properties.

The range contains six products and is a complete day-to-night skincare routine and each product promises to give you another daily dose of more youthful-looking skin. The Body Shop’s Drops Of Youth Skincare Products Review A Mum Reviews

The products in the range are:

  • Youth Essence-Lotion 160ml / £14
  • Youth Concentrate 50ml / £32
  • Youth Cream 50ml / £20
  • Youth Eye Concentrate 10ml / £19
  • Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask 90ml / £24
  • Wonderblur Youth Smoother 30ml / £17

I’ve tried four of the products the Youth Essence-Lotion, Youth Concentrate, Youth Cream and Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask. The Body Shop’s Drops Of Youth Skincare Products Review A Mum Reviews

The first step in this skincare routine is to use the Youth Essence-Lotion after cleansing your skin with your favourite cleanser. This product has a unique gel-to-water formula and feels refreshing on your skin as it prepares it for the next steps of the routine. You can feel the results straight away as your skin feels smoother and hydrated. Like the rest of the products in this range, the essence-lotion contains the three potent plant stem cells mentioned above. It feels very nourishing!

I use a couple of cotton wool pads or reusable make-up pads for this step. The Body Shop’s Drops Of Youth Skincare Products Review A Mum Reviews

The next step is using the Youth Concentrate which is like a serum. It’s got a fresh runny gel texture that is quickly absorbed and non-sticky. It makes skin appear smoother, healthier and more supple and it also tightens pores and smoothes fine lines.

It comes in a luxurious and beautiful green glass bottle with a glass dropper that makes it easy to use the product and ensures you use the right amount. This product feels like such a treat for my tired skin. The Body Shop’s Drops Of Youth Skincare Products Review A Mum Reviews

The third step is to apply the facial moisturiser Youth Cream. This is another really refreshing but pampering product. The cream is velvety and air-whipped and feels like somewhere between a gel and a cream. It hydrates skin really really well and makes it feel smooth, supple and bouncy. It absorbs very quickly and feels really light and fresh on my skin. The Body Shop’s Drops Of Youth Skincare Products Review A Mum Reviews

The fourth step is to use the Eye Concentrate which targets and smoothes out the appearance of fine lines, under-eye bags and fatigue in the skin around the eyes. I’ve not tried this but it sounds great so I will have a look next time I’m in store. The Body Shop’s Drops Of Youth Skincare Products Review A Mum Reviews

Step five is the Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask which is my favourite product from this range and one of my favourite skincare products at the moment. It’s such a clever product that works at improving your skin while you sleep which is perfect for busy women (and tired mums!). The formula is a cream-gel and it’s a deeply hydrating mask that you massage onto your face before going to bed and leave on overnight to reveal skin that’s softer, plumped up, renewed and visibly bouncier.

It really delivers on these promises and my skin feels so much better after using it. I love that it’s mess-free, that you sleep in it and then don’t even have to wash it off in the morning. The bouncy “memory shape” texture is really interesting and unique. You get a little spatula with your jar to help you get the product out. It’s very pleasant to use and the results are amazing.

Follow the massage technique pictured below for the best results.

The sixth and final step is a product for daytime use and it’s the Wonderblur. I’ve not tried this but it’s a lightweight blur that instantly smoothes skin texture, visibly reducing fine lines and pores for an even, flawless finish and also hydrates skin for 12 hours. It sounds like it would be good as a make-up primer.

The packaging of the range is beautiful and the same as the Oils of Life range but in bright green instead of golden/copper. The Concentrate, the Cream and the Bouncy Sleeping Mask all come in thick green glass bottles and jars which look lovely and feel very luxurious. All the products come in white paper boxes too.The Body Shop’s Drops Of Youth Skincare Products Review A Mum Reviews

It’s a great skincare routine that I’m really enjoying using and it’s great for this time of the year when my skin tends to feel a bit dry but I still want something that feels light on my skin as we move into spring.

The scent is natural, fresh, relaxing and very spa-like which adds to the pampering feeling and helps me wind down before bed.

My favourite product is definitely the Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask. If you only try one product from the range that’s the one I would recommend to you. It seems like it would be great for all skin types too.

The Body Shop’s Drops Of Youth range is available online and in store. Click the image below to get directly to the different products. Products from this range would make a great Mother’s Day gift for mothers of all ages.
